The Escapist
Run by a CAR-PGa member, Bill Walton, The Escapist has been doing RPG advocacy online since 1995, and up until the founding of this site it hosted a page with some background information on CAR-PGa. Still a good source of news, the famous “Spellcasting 101” article, &c.
The Forge
From discussions of playtesting and publishing to an archive of their past work on RPG theory, primarily the GNS (Gamist/Narrativist/Simulationist) Model that they developed, The Forge has a number of resources for those looking to explore RPGs beyond the mainstream systems and discussions.
GAMA (The Game Manufacturers Association)
GAMA, which covers a variety of traditional game companies, is less for the casual browser than the serious businessman, but they have occasionally helped out with advocacy and defense work, particularly regarding the educational uses of games.
RPG Research Project
The website of a large-scale, long-term, multi-variable, triple-blind research study on the therapeutic aspects of role-playing gaming. The purpose is to determine the causal characteristics of role-playing games rather than relying on correlative data as other studies have done in the past.
